Need to vent some anger? It's time to Flip That Table! I had always wanted to make use of my free time to experience creating my own game. With my programmer buddy, Chet, we journeyed through from ideas to problems, publish to maintenance and review. I learnt a lot from going through the whole process of publishing a game. Why "Flip That Table?" During my 2+ years of intense study in DigiPen, I would always express myself with the words "flip table", to the point that my friends see me as a table flipper person (I have not flip/harm a single table physically though). One day I did random sketch while waiting for my rendering. From there, my friends and I thought this could be a potential game. My programmer buddy, Chet, see this as an opportunity too, and we paired together to create this game. Back then, it was a slow and challenging experience for both of us. I had studies and freelances, while he had a full-time job that required travelling. Even after my studies, I immediately had a full-time job and freelances after my graduation. There were several periods of time we pause and revamp the project due to our busy schedules and lack of manpower. Thankfully, we have friends who supported us; taking countless of game testing, checking on our progress and provide support. I am also thankful to have a partner like Chet. We do have different ideas at times and we managed to discuss through with 0% argument. My best experience in this project is to get connection with Apple! My programmer was overseas back then, so I have to go to their office alone. I get to meetup with 5 staffs from various department to present our game. The staffs there are so friendly and open that all my nervousness were gone in split seconds. They provide a lot of useful feedback that I could not see back then, and even better, they are willingly to feature our game in their store! This give us a good head start when publishing our game. We maintenance the game for about 1 year+ before we decide to discontinued it. Overall, I am glad to be able to self-publish a game with my buddy, despite all our busy schedules. I would bring these learning experience from this project to my future projects. Here is our English trailer! And finally, do check out our social media and line stickers!
